Tanya Vik, FEI Dressage Trainer

     Tanya's barn lies as a small barn within Riverside.  It has a quiet and peaceful feel, with the advantages of the larger facility at its doorstep.  Tanya provides a custom training program suited to each individual client.  A wide variety of programs range from a lesson once a week on a schoolmaster to the full training of you and your horse.  Her mission of training is to meet the riders' goals whether or not that entails competition.  Tanya offers dressage training programs individually tailored to best suit the needs of the horse and rider.  All levels of horses and riders who are interested in learning dressage are welcome.  Programs range from individual lessons to full training.  Riders are taught with a combined focus on developing seat and position, learning horse training skills, and increasing theoretical knowledge to optimize their ability to most effectively ride and train the horse. The focus is to help riders achieve their goals whether that includes competing or not.

Tanya Vik has had a life long passion for horses and has been riding since the age of 10 with an strong and early dressage influence. She has been teaching and training for over 20 years, specializing in dressage for the last 15 years.  In the last ten years she has been a very active competitor, qualifying horses and competing in CDS and USDF championships.  In that time she has been in the top 10 of CDS and USDF/USAE Region VII finals numerous times every year on many different horses.  To date, Tanya has competed through Prix St. George, earning her USDF Silver Medal.

    When not competing, teaching, or training, Tanya is actively participating in clinics, seminars, and symposiums to further develop her teaching and training skills. She sees dressage as a sport in which there is always opportunities for ongoing learning. Tanya continues to train with Sandy Howard, Anders Lindgren, Joan Bolton Kress, Volker Brommann, and Andrew Murphy to name a few.  

    Freestyles created, choreographed, and ridden all by Tanya.  She also enjoys helping her students with their own freestyles.
